Two Female Suicide Bombers in Borno Die as their Explosives are Accidentally Detonated
Two female suicide bombers on Sunday died after the explosives strapped on them were accidentally detonated before they reached their intended location.
The incident occurred at Auno village in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, located about 15 kilometers away from Maiduguri, Punch reports.

The duo’s intended target location was Maiduguri’s Monday Market. However, the explosives blew them up while they were waiting for a bus that would take them to the market. Seven other individuals were injured and were immediately taken to Maiduguri General Hospital for treatment. There were no other casualties.
A taxi driver, Mallam Mohammdu Abor, who claimed that drove through Auno on Sunday afternoon, told journalists that he saw the mangled bodies of the suicide bombers by the roadside.The duo’s intended target location was Maiduguri’s Monday Market. He said the people of the town were standing at a distance from the bodies as they were apprehensive that they might still have undetonated explosives on them.
Speaking on the matter, the spokesman for the youth vigilance group in Borno State, Jibrin Gunda, said he was informed about the incident, adding that his men had intensified their stop-and-search mission.
