Funke Adeshiyan grabs PDP nomination form

                                                Nollywood actress, Funke Adesiyan will be contesting the 2015 election like several of her colleagues including Desmond Elliot, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Kenny Saint-Best, Dayo Adeneye and others. The actress is gunning for a seat in the Ibadan South-East constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and after she kept quiet about her political party all along, she has now officially disclosed the party under whose platform she will be contesting next year’s general elections. Having obtained her nomination form which she showed off on her Blackberry Messenger over the weekend, Funke has shown ample seriousness that she will be contesting under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Along with 9ice, who is contesting for the Federal House of Representatives, Funke is the other entertainer seeking elective office in Oyo State.

13 Years After 9/11 Attacks, World Trade Center Re-opens for Business

                          It is currently an emotional time for New Yorkers and the United States as a whole, as the World Trade Center re-opens for business 13 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The 104-storey, $3.9 billion skyscraper, which is the tallest building in America, officially re-opened on Monday, November 3, USA TODAY reports. Companies have gradually started moving into the building. Conde Nast, the company that owns publications such as Vanity Fair, GQ, and Vogue, has already moved in with its over 2,300 employees occupying 24 floors.

HIV Positive Woman Vows To Infect As Many People As Possible

                        A Dallas, Texas, woman who is infected with the HIV virus, Diamond Lawrence, has vowed to infect as many people as she can. Diamond who was arrested for stealing frozen food from the Texas branch of Walmart, says she would infect employees of the firm. The New York Daily News reports that Dallas police arrested Diamond Lawrence after she allegedly stole $11 worth of frozen food from a Walmart and then attacked the employee who stopped her. She scratched him in an attempt to draw blood and infect him with HIV, police said. Continue..

Ex-Oceanic bank Manager In Jail For N15m fraud

                       Efe Egube, a former manager with the defunct Oceanic Bank, is now in jail for allegedly perpetrating a bank fraud totalling a whopping N15million fraud. A Lagos High Court judge, Justice Olutoyin Ipaye, handed the order on Egube when he was dragged before him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , (EFCC). Continue...

Kindly keep me in your prayers as I embark on this next phase of my life” A poster has been released showing his political ambition and it describes him as “the one we trust.” This comes as fellow Kennis Music member, Kenny Saint Brown also declared her intention to run for office under the Lagos APC.

Boko Haram: Adamawa Govt bans motor-cycle operations in seven LGs

                     As part of measures to contain the messy security situation in Adamawa, the state Government has banned the operations of commercial motorcycles in seven Local Government areas. A statement by Phineas Elisha, the Director Press and Public Affairs to Governor Bala Ngilari, urged the public and security operatives to ensure compliance. The affected local governments are Hong, Gombi, Song, Girei, Numan, Demsa and Fufore. In a swift reaction to the development, many people have condemned the action saying it would caused further hardship to the people. “Many people running away from the insurgency in the affected local government areas particularly Hong, Gombi and Song rely on motorcycle due to shortage of vehicles. The capital city is now full of motor and human traffic while food and cold water vendors make brisk business as IDPs rush for food and ice water to cool down on arrival.

Following his mother into the fashion world, the youngster was hand-picked by the British label's Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey, for the second time. As well as posing in a series of campaign shots, Romeo also stars in a short film, which promises to take the audience on a magical festive journey.Speaking about the campaign and working with the young Beckham, Christopher Bailey said: 'This festive campaign is a celebration of everything we love at Burberry; the trench coat, the cashmere scarf, incredible music, our British weather, and working with great and talented people.
