Pictured: Moment British Typhoon fighter jets scrambled to intercept two Russian 'Bears' flying in international airspace

                      Royal Air Force jets were deployed from Scotland to intercept Russian military 'Bear' aircraft that were flying too close to the airspace it guards. Aircraft based at RAF Lossiemouth, based in Moray, were sent to identify the aircraft - Tu-95 Russian Bear H bombers - that were spotted in international airspace. It was the first time a Quick Reaction Alert had occurred since the base took on the role of defending the UK’s Northern airspace. Continue...

Synagogue Church Building Collapse: Death Toll of South Africans Rises to 84

                           The number of South Africans who died in the Synagogue church building collapse has increased from 67 to 84. South Africa’s high commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Louis Mnguni confirmed the news, IOL News reports. Mnguni also revealed that 17 people are still unaccounted for, and that they are now presumed dead. According to reports, 349 South Africans were in Nigeria for Synagogue church-related activities. 265 out of that number were found alive.

                       A 26-year-old Russian man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself live on Skype, while spectators cheered him on.                              WHEN the Australian negotiator, Dr Stephen Davis, alleged that an unnamed top official of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was among the sponsors of the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria many people took his words with a pinch of salt as he had also named a former Chief of Army Staff, retired Lt Gen Azubuike Ihejirika, and former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. ‘No’ vote wins as Scotland rejects independence

               Scotland rejected independence on Friday in a referendum that left the centuries-old United Kingdom intact but paved the way for a major transfer of powers away from London. Despite a surge in nationalist support in the final fortnight of the campaign, the “No” secured 55.30 percent of the vote against 44.70 percent for the pro-independence “Yes” camp. After a campaign that fired up separatist movements around the world, turnout was 84.6 percent, officials said — the highest ever for an election in Britain. Continue....

We were deceived by Sawyer, Ebola survivors recount ordeal

                           FIVE out of nine survivors of the dreaded Ebola Virus Diseases, EVD, yesterday, met with Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, and some members of the State’s Executive Council, SEC, where they recounted their experiences. They include Dennis Akagha, husband of late Justina, a nurse at First Consultant Hospital, Dr Fadipe Akinniyi, Dr. Ibeawuchi Morris, Dr. Adaowa Igowoh and Kelechi Enemuo, wife of late Dr. Iyke Samuel Enemuo, who died of EVD in Port Harcourt. Three of the survivors who are staff of First Consultant Hospital, contracted the virus from the index case, late Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who brought in the disease into Nigeria on July 20, 2014.
