The Presidency has released a letter from the Central Bank confirming payment of two hundred billion naira for ASUU. It also said it has soft pedalled on the ultimatum earlier issued to the striking lecturers. At a news briefing in Abuja, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affair, Dr DoyinOkupe, said the letter signed by the CBN Deputy Governor Operations, Tunde Lemo was to further clear the doubts by ASUU that government had redeemed the agreement so far reached. Dr Okupe, said a meeting between government representatives and ASUU to work out details on NEED assessment strategy will be called today or tomorrow.
