Wizkid gives fans a musical double dose

                              Musician and boss of Starboy records, Wizkid has released two new tracks titled Joy and Bombay featuring, rapper Phyno. The songs which are produced by Dr Frabz, are rumoured to future in Wizkid’s sophomore album which will drop before the end of June. Wizkid’s discography resume includes collaboration with international and domestic acts such as Bracket, Iyanya, Ice Prince Wale, Young Jeezy, Akon, and Femi Kuti. Listen to songs HERE

Ecobank set to elect new directors

                                  Troubled Ecobank Transnational Incorporated is scheduled to elect new directors during an annual general meeting slated for the end of the month. The AGM is set for Lome, Togo on June 30. Shareholders at the meeting will also discuss the approval of the bank's account, ratification of the co-option of a director and re-appointment of a joint auditor. Ecobank has been characterised by crises in the past years following alleged corporate governance breaches by top management officials of the bank. Earlier this year, some directors of the bank resigned their appointment while the bank's Chief Executive Officer, Thiery Tannoh, was sacked by the board members. The election of new directors to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of three former directors and two other director due for retirement will thus top the agenda of the meeting on June 30.

Family denies death rumours of veteran actor

                             The family of Romanus Amuta, popularly known as Nathy of the rested TV series, New Masquerade, on Monday in Abuja debunked the purported death of the actor. The first son of the veteran actor, Dr Chukwuma Amuta, said that the death of his father, as reported in some section of the media was misleading. He said Nathy was recuperating from the stroke he suffered in 2009. "I'm the first son of Romanus Amuta, also known as Nathy. I am surprised to hear such a fallacious rumor.It is true that my dad had stroke some five years ago, that’s in 2009. Presently he is clinically stable and he is recovering well.That was why I was very surprised when I heard about such information being spread in the media.The report saying that he is dead obviously makes every other thing false.                         If his speech at his surprise welcome home party thrown for him by his on-again/off-again girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, is anything to go by Chris Brown has finally made up his mind as to whom he wants to be in a relationship with. Not so long ago Brown broke up with Tran, the reason he gave for the break up was that he wanted to focus on his "friendship" with Rihanna, Tran was left wondering what she had done wrong. A few months later Brown broke up with the Bajan songstress and went back to Tran. Bossip reports that after his release from prison last week Brown came home to all his friends waiting for him for at a surprise barbecue put together by his girlfriend Karrueche Tran. 'Art teaches something positive'

                             Photographer and poet Sandra Mbanefo-Obiago says that art should not be destructive or bring down the dignity of people but should teach something positive. "I believe that art, including photography, dance and music should have inspirational elements," Mbanefo-Obiago said in Lagos. The artist spoke at the Wheatbaker Hotel Ikoyi, the venue of her photo exhibition. The exhibition is titled Unfurling, and would hold from June 9 to August 31. According to her, artworks are able to show something from a vantage point that gives hope. "I don’t subscribe to art that is destructive or that tears down the dignity of others. Amid all the pain and disillusionment, striving for success and challenges, there is still beauty surrounding us; we should endeavour to enjoy it. The song titled Bobozi is a fusion of contemporary electronic sound with nostalgic highlife melodies.
