                      At last the World Health Organization on Monday declared Nigeria officially Ebola-free, after 42 days — or two incubation periods — without any new confirmed cases of the deadly virus. “The virus is gone for now. The outbreak in Nigeria has been defeated. This is a spectacular success story that shows to the world that Ebola can be contained,” WHO country representative Rui Gama Vaz said in Abuja. Nigeria won praise for its swift response after a Liberian diplomat brought the disease to the country in July. The outbreak has killed more than 4,500 people in West Africa, mostly in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone. An estimated 70% of those infected have died in those countries. The WHO officially declared Senegal Ebola-free on Friday.

                     The Lagos State Government on Sunday said it was finalising arrangements to deploy some health workers who helped in the containment of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the state to Sierra Leone. The Governor, Babatunde Fashola, made the announcement in Ikeja while speaking at a programme to commemorate the 2,700 days of his administration in office. Continue...

                 Lupita Nyong’o has been off the radar for a while but the Kenyan actress is definitely still very much around. The 31-year-old actress attended the Sindika Dokolo Art Foundation dinner at London’s Cafe Royal last night and she took to her Instagram page to gush about meeting Nigerian artiste Asa, who Lupita called one of her favourite artistes.                                  Phyno, has released the video to one of the tracks off his album, “No Guts No Glory”. The track titled “Nme Nme” is a contemporary highlife tune with properly delivered lyrics by the Penthauze artiste. The video, shot and directed by Clarence Peters of Capital Pictures is a video flick comprising mostly two beautiful scenes; a live band playing on a rooftop with Phyno as the lead singer, and a studio scene that brings the native feel to the video.                              

Iyanya’s song ‘Mr. Oreo’ is all about the body and his fans never seem to be able to get enough.                           Popular Lagos nightclub, Movida owner Akeem  Shodeinde , said  he plans to shut down his popular club house and leave the club scene for a little while so he can concentrate on his health. Akeem has been battling kidney problems for a while now.
