                                                              Nigeria’s official news agency says the government and Islamic extremists from Boko Haram have agreed to an immediate cease-fire, the Associated Press reports. It quotes the chief of defense staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, as ordering his troops to immediately comply with the agreement. The news comes as another official confirmed there had been direct negotiations this week in neighboring Chad about the release of more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he said an official statement will be released later Friday. Boko Haram has been demanding the release of detained extremists in exchange for the girls.                                                      Newly elected governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, is kicking off his term in office by fulfilling one of his promises: The appointment of a Special Assistant on “Stomach Infrastructure.” Many criticized him of trying to use food to sway voters. However, he ignored the criticism, and promised to elect a “Stomach Infrastructure” Special Assistant, because according to him, “You can put a tar on the road but if I don’t have a car and I’m hungry, then that tar is meaningless. Tarring our road is wonderful but putting food inside this stomach is very important.” He has appointed Sunday Anifowose as his Special Assistant Stomach Infrastructure and Special Duties.                           The Coroner court put up by the Lagos State government to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collapse of a building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, Ikotun Lagos, yesterday visited the scene of the incident, requesting families of the victims to come for identification to avoid mass burial. The Coroner Judge, who was corroborating a request made by the state Chief Medical Examiner, Prof. John Obafunwa for the manifest of the people in the building when it collapsed maintained that the government will be left with no option than to give the deceased mass burial if there was no proper identification. The entourage which was received by the Chief Security Officer of the church, Mr Sunday Okojie, who conducted them around the scene of the incident also included Mr Akingbolahan Adeniran, Lagos State Counsel and representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Red Cross Society and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority.                                A Pakistani Christian woman has been sentenced to hang after she was accused of making 'blasphemous' comments about the prophet Mohammed during an argument. While working as a berry picker in 2009, 46-year-old Asia Bibi got into a dispute with a group of Muslim women who objected to her drinking their water because as a Christian she was considered 'unclean'. Hours after the incident one of the women reported mother-of-five Ms Bibi to a local cleric, claiming she had mob as a result of the allegations, a furious mob arrived at Ms Bibi's home and savagely beat her and members of her family.
