Nigeria Police Force Deploys 400 Personnel On Peacekeeping Duty in Liberia And Sudan

The Nigeria Police today in Abuja deployed three Formed Police Unit contingents, made up of 400 personnel, to the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) and the African Union/United Nations’ Hybrid operation in Dafur (UNAMID), a police statement said. At the pre-deployment and competence demonstration exercise which took place at the Parade Ground of the Force Headquarters, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. MD Abubakar, noted that similar contingents are currently on international peacekeeping assignments in Cote D’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan.
