Jonathan to hand over on May 29th- FG

The Federal government on Wednesday clarified that the dinner being organised for the president elect on May 28 is not meant to be for a formal handover to president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, noting that the May 29th hand-over date remains sacrosanct. Making the clarification Wednesday, Minister ‎of Information, Patricia Akwashiki, said the dinner would still be hosted by Jonathan for Buhari on May 28. She hinted that the president-elect may be honoured with an award during the dinner. ‎According to the minister, all hand over briefs being coordinated by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim would be ready by May 28. Petroleum Minister, Alison-Madueke, denies seeking asylum; says she’s going nowhere

Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has denied planning to flee the country to escape alleged corruption charges under the incoming Buhari government. Mrs. Alison-Madueke struck a defiant tone Wednesday, dismissing allegations that six countries had denied her requests for asylum. The minister said she had no plan to escape as she was not indicted for any offence. Following her recent meeting with former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, the minister said speculations have been rife that she is looking for a “soft landing” from the in-coming administration. “I have not sought such assistance because I am not aware that I have been indicted of any crime that I will need a soft landing,” Mrs. Alison-Madueke told journalists at the presidential villa in Abuja Wednesday. Nollywood filmmaker Charles Novia doesn’t believe that Hamisu Abubakar, the man who walked from Lagos to Abuja to celebrate Muhammadu Buhari’s victory, actually walked for the entire duration of his journey. Novia took to Twitter to express his disbelief:

Avengers scripts destroyed every day to prevent leaks from film set

The cast of the new Avengers film say pages of the script had to be shredded every day on set to stop details of the new movie leaking. Speaking at the Age of Ultron UK premiere, Elizabeth Olsen, who plays new character Scarlet Witch, said security was strict to prevent hacks. Paul Bettany, who evolves from voicing Jarvis to becoming The Vision, said the script was never emailed to him. Bettany told Newsbeat it was posted "with a security guard". He said it had "a name all over every page so I couldn't tweet it... it had to be delivered into my hands". BBC reports. Continue....
