Lawyer who was caught writing exams for students, Law School DG alleges

                               Some lawyers have been caught writing examination for students in the Nigerian Law School, the institution’s Director-General, Prof Olanrewaju Onadeko, said yesterday. Onadeko, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), dropped the hint when he presented the school‘s report to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Bar Association in Port Harcourt. Onadeko, who did not state the number of affected lawyers, said the matter has been reported to the NBA. He urged the association to take action against such lawyers to save legal education in the country. Mr Rotimi Jacob (SAN), urged the NBA to address the issue raised by the Law School director-general. NBA’s outgoing President Augustine Alegeh said the association had not received report of such incident in the past two years. Only a few friends and family and children of JJC attended the private ceremony. It will be the second time the acclaimed Nollywood actress who celebrated her 39th birthday on Wednesday, August 24 is getting married. In 2012, Funke had Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede in a glamorous wedding. But only months into the marriage, cracks developed and both had to part ways. While JJC, founder of JJC and 419 Squad, is an award-winning artiste, director and producer, has never been married but has four children with three women. CAN faults Kerry’s visit

The Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) yesterday berated the United States (US) Secretary of States, Mr. John Kerry over his visit to the country. It alleged that the visit was discriminatory, personal and divisive. CAN alleged that the visit was targeted to sustain the persecution of Christians. Kerry’s two-day visit has attracted condemnation from Christian leaders who question his sincerity. During the visit, Kerry visited the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, met with the 19 northern governors, three of whom are Christians. At the Presidential Villa, where he was hosted by President Muhammadu Buhari, Kerry met with select northern governors, which also irked critics on the selection process of his hosts. CAN President Rev. Supo Ayokunle told reporters that Kerry’s action meant lack of respect to the heterogeneous nature of the country.
