                                   The Lagos State Government has introduced a 10-day paternity leave for fathers and s extended maternity leave for female civil servants to 6 months.  The state head of service, Mrs Josephine Williams, speaking at a joint press conference at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa on Thursday, July 17, 2014 said the new leave regime was meant to reduce the negative implication of the extensive work life of parents, who are civil servants in the state. Williams said, “A female officer shall be entitled to twenty-four weeks maternity leave with full pay in case of her first two deliveries. The said leave shall commence, at least two weeks before the expected delivery date; a male officer, to who a new baby (or babies in case of multiple births) is born shall be entitled to 10 working days,” The special adviser to the governor on public health, Dr. Yewande ...

                       Yesterday Julius Agwu posted a picture of himself, Jude, Phyno and Paul when they arrived Anambra for the preparation of Jude’s wedding. Today pictures from the ceremony have emerged online, and we are yet to see Peter Okoye in any of the pictures. But Peter who didn't want people to keep guessing if he was at the party or not, made sure he posted a picture of himself with a friend indicating there was no way he would be at the party.                           Two days after ending her three-day visit to Nigeria, Pakistani girls’ education campaigner, Malala Yousafzai, has launched a petition seeking international intervention for the release of the abducted Chibok girls. The 17-year-old activist, who survived assassination attempts by the Taliban extremist group, stated that she wanted the global community to stand with the Nigerian girls and shame those working to deny schoolgirls an education.
