Photos: Eleven black women kicked off a wine tour train sues for discrimination

The eleven women from a predominantly black book club, The Sistahs on the Reading Edge Book Club, who were kicked off a California wine train on August 22 sued the company on Thursday for racial discrimination, seeking $11 million in damages. In the lawsuit filed against the Napa Valley Wine Train in the U.S. District Court in California, the women called the experience degrading & surreal. All but one of the women are African-American.

Robbers strike again in Lagos traffic-[PHOTOS]

 According to   lindaikejisblog  last night in traffic at Mile 2, Lagos at about 8pm. The robbers broke the driver's side mirror and took her phone, money and later destroyed the rare to check if she had valuables behind. Lagos state govt need to find a way to put an end to this biko. Aggrieved SURE-P staff protest over N4.9bn fraud

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George among other Nigerians have been accused of embezzlement to the tune of N4.947billion from 51,000 jobless Nigerians recruited as Federal Task Force officers for the protection of Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme,SURE-P/Federal Road Maintenance Agency,FER MA projects in Nigeria. The aggrieved staff who almost barricaded the complex, petitioned the House of Representatives via the Chairman, House Adhoc Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Sani Zoro (APC, Jigawa); a copy of which was made available to newsmen, stated in the petition that the PDP chieftains among who is a former minister made them to purchase the Federal Task Force forms which were supposed to be free at the rate N30,000 each, despite their impoverished situation, only to be employed, used and abandoned. See face of fake Army General who sponsors Boko Haram

Another suspected Boko Haram sponsor, Aliyu Hussaini, who has also been parading himself as a military brigadier general has been arrested. The Nigerian Army in a statement on Tuesday said that Hussaini was arrested by soldiers of the 33rd Artillery Brigade in Bauchi State during a raid.  vanguard  reports.

NFF reverts Oliseh's decision, insists Enyeama must stay

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has confirmed that there was misunderstanding in the camp of the Super Eagles but it has been resolved. The arrival of Lille goalkeeper and captain of the Eagles in Belgium which ordinarily should bring cheers to the camp instead, turned the camp into a war zone following allegations of anti-camp activities against the captain. ”Things are no longer at ease in camp. There was an open shouting match between the coach and Enyeama”, our source said on our hotline last night. The source claimed that Sunday Oliseh was so furious that he threatened to work out of the Eagles camp if Enyeama does not leave camp. ”Oliseh still insists Vincent Enyeama should be decamped or he will work out of camp”.

:UK crime agency: Diezani’s cash seizure not related to arrest

                         The United Kingdom, UK, National Crime Agency has said that the £27,000 (N9,180,000) seized from the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, was not related to her arrest. Diezani Alison-Madueke The agency, in response to an enquiry byVanguard, said that cash seizure in the UK does not need to be related to an arrest. Furthermore, NCA’s Press Office confirmed, in an electronic mail sent to Vanguard in Abuja yesterday, that apart from the £27,000 recovered from the former minister, ‘smaller sums’ were also seized from two other individuals, who it declined to name.
