First confirmed Ebola patient in Mali dies

                               The first confirmed Ebola patient in Mali has died, according to state TV reports, citing government health officials. The victim, a 2-year-old girl, had traveled to the country with her grandmother from Guinea -- one of the three countries hardest hit during the recent Ebola outbreak  chidexboy .                    Forbes Africa has revealed the nominees for their 2014 Person of the Year award and notably, three Nigerians are on the list – Aliko Dangote, author Chimamanda Adichie and Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Arunma Oteh. Also on the list are Thuli Madonsela, a South African advocate and the nation’s public protector who helped draft the country’s constitution in 1994 and was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People this year as well as Donald Kaberuka, the Rwandan economist who has ushered in significant change for the continent during his 10 years tenure as the president of the African Development Bank. Gunmen kidnap oil minister, Diezani’s sister

                                  Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke’s sister has been kidnapped by gunmen in Port Harcourt. The minister implied that her mother was seized because of her ministry’s crackdown on oil companies which had abused the country’s rotten fuel subsidy scheme. Vanguard reports that the men abducted her sister, Osiyo Agama, at gunpoint as she was walking to her car on Tuesday night. The motive for the abduction is currently unknown, as there has been no report of the men asking for a ransom.
