                             Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, one of dozens of actresses, models and celebrities, whose intimate images have been posted online, spoke about the photo hacking scandal for the first time on Wednesday. The actress said that it was a crime and sexual violation. In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Lawrence, 24, said she was frightened after the photos were released last month and worried about the impact it would have on her career. “Just because I’m a public figure, just because I’m an actress, does not mean that I asked for this. “It does not mean that it comes with the territory,” Lawrence, who won a best actress Academy Award for “Silver Linings Playbook,” told the magazine.                                      Nissan is proud to announceYaya Touré, three-time African Footballer of the Year and UEFA Champions League winner, as its newest global ambassador. The Manchester City and Ivory Coast midfielder has agreed to a deal which will see him work alongside Nissan’s global UEFA Champions League and Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2015 partnerships. Yaya joins Nissan’s star-studded team of UEFA Champions League ambassadors, which includes the recently announced Barcelona and Spain midfielder,Andrés Iniesta and PSG and Brazil defender, Thiago Silva. The UEFA Champions League ambassadors will work with the company as part of the Engineers of Excitement program, which aims to enhance the experience of football fans through a range of activities including the exclusive Goal of the Week competition.                          A South Africa organization, The ANC Youth League - wants rapper Nicki Minaj to pay back the R10million (about $1million) they paid her as part payment for a show that was canceled. According to South African media, Nicki was paid the money a few weeks back for a music festival - TribeOne Dinokeng, which she was supposed to headline in the city of Tshwane this October but the festival was canceled recently. Now they want their money back. ANCYL said they have written to the rapper's management to return the money. Unfortunately, it's a non-refundable performance fee. Meaning if you pay and you cancel your show, it's on you. You ain't getting your money back. But ANCYL is now saying if Nicki Minaj doesn't want to return the money, she should give it to charity. “She knows that she hasn’t worked for the money and there are many charities that she can donate the money to.                           The Western Naval Command (WNC) of the Nigerian Navy (NN) has arrested no fewer than 50 suspected pipeline vandals in an ongoing major operation at Majidun, Ikorodu area of Lagos State. This is in addition to their recovery of about 6,000 gallons of stolen products siphoned from several vandalised Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) pipelines. Continue...

                    Fifty individuals are currently under surveillance in Spain a fter a Spanish nurse contracted the virus after treating two Ebola patients in the country. Government authorities are monitoring them for possible signs of Ebola, as they are suspected to have had contact with the nurse, New York Times reports. The Spanish government is said to be facing criticism over the perceived lax manner in which they handled the Ebola case. Reports state that it took almost one week for the nurse to be tested for Ebola even after she contacted a medical center on September 30th, complaining that she felt feverish. Because Spain is a developed country, its citizens reportedly have high expectations about the country’s capacity to handle the disease.

                          Two weeks ago,  Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) had been   hospitalized in Germany as a result of a “chronic back ailment.” Vanguard reports that IBB is feeling much better, and will return to Nigeria soon. Speaking to journalists via a telephone call at Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu’s residence in Minna, he said, “I miss all of you, I wish you all Barka de Sallah. I am better now and I will be back in few days’ time.”
