                      A military helicopter conveying arms and ammunition has crashed in Damare village a few Kilometres away from Yola, the capital of Adamawa State. Eye witnesses said that two of the five crew members dressed on uniform on board the aircraft sustained fractures to their legs while the other two escaped unhurt . Thisday  reported.

                       Security men drawn from Nigeria’s major formations took over the streets of Abuja yesterday ahead of the formal declaration by President Goodluck Jonathan today to run for a second term in office. Meanwhile, reacting to automatic tickets given to 40 senators by President Goodluck Jonathan, members of the House of Representatives insisted yesterday that the same priviledge should be extended to them.  According to one of the lawmakers, who is from the South East zone, the two chambers have a lot of role to play to protect the President. He further explained that ”One thing is certain, if we members of the House of Reps are not given automatic tickets like our Senate counterparts, we will properly help the main opposition to rock the boat. vanguard  reports.

                   Unkown Gunmen have abducted Sani Ribadu, younger brother of ex Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu. He was abducted from his farm in Yola, Adamawa State on Sunday evening, The gunmen abducted the victim, but abandoned his car Further information about the incident is yet to be provided.                                        Tragic news this morning as it has been confirmed that the leader of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Dr Myles Munroe, his wife Ruth, daughter along with 6 other people died in a plane crash on Sunday 9th November 2014. The Bahamas Tribune reports that; The plane reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area. #The Department of Civil Aviation reported that the plane was a Lear 36 executive jet which departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) for the Grand Bahama International Airport.                       A new Boko Haram video released to AFP, is said to show the inside of a town controlled by the terrorist group. The video shows an armoured vehicle with the insurgents, including their leaderAbubakar Shekau on board, traveling down a road, and preaching to residents as they pass by, Yahoo News reports.                               At least 20 students have reportedly been killed by a bomb at a school assembly in the north-east Nigerian town of Potiskum. The explosion happened at a boys' science and technical school in the town. Militant group Boko Haram is likely to be blamed for the attack. It has often targeted schools during its five-year campaign to establish an Islamic state, which has left thousands dead.

                                 The five-man shortlist for the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2014 has been revealed. Title holder Yaya Toure has been nominated for the sixth consecutive year, along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Yacine Brahimi, Vincent Enyeama and Gervinho.
