                        Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have just made a major announcement in the wake of the Ebola crisis. In a Facebook post, the two revealed that they are donating $25 million to the Cdc Foundation to help fight the current epidemic. The current situation "is at a critical turning point," he said in his statement earlier today. "It has infected 8,400 people so far, but it is spreading very quickly and projections suggest it could infect 1 million people or more over the next several months if not addressed." Zuckerberg added, "We need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn't spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end.

                       Tanzanian Traffic Policeman & Woman Pictured Kissing In Public Sacked 3 Traffic police officers (a woman & two men) in Tanzania have lost their job when they were caught kissing in public. According to Zambian Post, the officers were sacked on ground of misconduct on official duty. Asumba Mwasumbi & Veronica Mdeme (pictured above) were sacked for kissing each other in the course of their official duty while the other officer, Fadhiri Linga was also fired for taking the picture with his phone and sharing it online.

                There was pandemonium yesterday night among security agencies in Yenagoa, Bayelsa after a soldier suspected to be drunk, shot and killed his colleague during an argument. According to report, the incident happened around 11pm on Monday night at Olopa Junction, very close to Bayelsa state Government House. The yet to be identified soldier was immediately disarmed and arrested by his other colleagues and is currently remanded in a police cell. The killer and victim are said to be attached to the police station in Olopa junction, Yenagoa. Spokesperson of Bayelsa State Police Command, Alex Akhigbe confirmed the killing but said it was a military affair. Details of the killing later.

                      The prosecution in the Oscar Pistorius case has scrutinised the athlete's charity work, on a second day of his sentencing hearing. Pistorius's main motive was to further his career, the prosecutor said, in an attempt to show he deserves jail for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Annette Vergeer said Pistorius showed genuine remorse and his disability would be a problem in jail.The athlete was found guilty of the culpable homicide of Ms Steenkamp last month - but was cleared of murderOn Monday, the prosecutor was angered by a call for the sentence to be house arrest and community service. Prosecutor Gerrie Nel labelled the suggestion as a "shockingly inappropriate" punishment.                          The incident happened on Sunday and firefighters and police were called for what turned out to be a prank. The Gabiko pub on Paulsborner Strabe in Wilmersdorf in West Berlin was subsequently sealed off by 20 firefighters. A fire service spokeswoman was reported to have told the paper that they received a call at 5.20p.m. that one of the bar’s customers was suffering from Ebola-like symptoms. When they arrived the man was no longer in the pub and they found him at home and took him to hospital. “He wasn’t ill and he hadn’t been away on holiday,” the fire service said. The fire service said it was the first Ebola prank they had received in Berlin. Police will now decide whether to charge the prank caller with wasting time and make them pay the costs for the call-out. Continue...
