Refugees Fleeing ISIS Offensive Pour Into Kurdistan

Khalid Abu-Bakar, Malaysia Chief Inspector General Police, said a 14-year-old Malaysian girl, who allegedly wanted to go to Syria to join jihad fighters has been detained by the police.
He said, on Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur, that the girl was arrested on Tuesday, but did not give her personal circumstances or the place of her arrest.
Abu-Bakar said the latest report from the Home Ministry indicated that more than 50 Malaysians had joined Islamic State militants and allied groups in Syria and Iraq.
He said more than 20 others have been charged in court for planning to join the terror group.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister Anifah Aman on Wednesday described as “utterly deplorable” the recent killing of 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya by a group linked with Islamic State militants.
He said the government of Malaysia expresses its deep sympathy and condolences to the government of Egypt and the families of the victims.
“May they have the strength and courage in this difficult time,’’ he said.
