Poker face: Lady GaGa kept her excitement about being asked to perform live at the Oscars under wraps at LAX on Thursday


Lady GaGa flew out of LA Thursday but not before breaking the news that she's landed a big gig.
'I'm performing live at the OSCARS this year!' the 28-year-old singer wrote on Instagram.

While at the airport she looked ready for her red-carpet appearance at the Academy Awards as she walked with her pet pooch Asia in a red suit and no shirt.
Dressed in a scarlet business suit and pointed-toe bright red shoes, just one black jacket button was all that preserved the modesty of the bra-less Born This Way singer.
The singer/songwriter carried a black ball and chain purse and wore large owlish shades and was closely guarded by security as she made her way to the departure area.
When she got to the escalators, the singer lovingly picked up her little French bulldog that was wearing a pretty pink lei and carried her in her arms.

Shell 'warned Nigeria pipeline could leak before spills'

  Oil firm Royal Dutch Shell was told a pipeline had reached the end of its life years before it spilled up to 500,000 barrels of oil, according to court documents seen by the BBC. Two spills in 2008 affected about 35 sq miles (90 sq km) in southern Nigeria, according to a group suing Shell. The area included sensitive mangroves. Shell "dismisses the suggestion that it has knowingly continued to use a pipeline that is not safe to operate," it told the BBC . The emails, letters and internal reports submitted to a court in London show that senior Shell employees were concerned before the spill that Shell's pipelines in the area had reached the end of their lives and needed replacing to avoid danger to lives, the environment and the economy.
