BREAKING: ICC drops Crimes Against Humanity charge against Kenya President
The International Criminal Court, ICC, has withdrawn charges of crimes against humanity against President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya.
Mr. Kenyatta was charged at The Hague-based court over his alleged role in the post-election that engulfed his country in 2007.
At least 1,000 people were killed.
ICC prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, said the charges could not be sustained.
A statement said the evidence had “not improved to such an extent that Mr Kenyatta’s alleged criminal responsibility can be proven beyond reasonable doubt”, the BBC reports.
