Jolie is the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, along with UK foreign secretary William Hague.
The announcement was made back in June that Jolie, along 1,148 others, were on the Queen's birthday list for honors. At the time, the BBC reported that Jolie said, "Working on the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative and with survivors of rape is an honor in itself. I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime and I am dedicated to it for all of mine."
