Kwara Police Parade Nitel Cable Thieves, Kidnappers
The Kwara State Police Command paraded four suspects for allegedly stealing Nitel cables worth nearly three million Naira in Offa Area of the State.
The Police also paraded seven suspects involved in the kidnapping of a 23 year-old girl.
After parading the four suspects for criminal conspiracy and the theft of Nitel cables, the State Commissioner of Police, Ambrose Aisabor, disclosed that the suspects came from Ijora in Lagos State to perpetrate the crime in Offa, Kwara State.
The Police surveillance team in conjunction with the vigilante in Offa arrested the four suspects in the act of perpetrating the crime, at night.
One of the suspects who claimed to be a carpenter, explained that he was invited by a friend for a job he did not know until their arrival in Offa, after which he was directed to work at night.
Meanwhile, one of the kidnap suspects claimed innocence, explaining that he had met and discussed with the girl in question on the day of her disappearance but did not know her whereabouts.
The Commissioner of Police promised to charge all suspects to court after finishing with the investigation, assuring the indigenes of the state that the police would do their best to ensure that the state remains one of the most peaceful state.
