APRIL FOOLS DAY PRANKS APRIL FOOLS DAY is here AT LAST!!!

In honour of the great prankster that lives in all of us we @UnilagX  have compiled some pretty epic April Fools Day pranks – LoL – that were pulled off to tell you about on #AprilFoolsDay

Here goes…

APRIL FOOLS IN FULL . . .

  • THE THIRD PLACE POSITION:
In 1980 the BBC reported that Big Ben, in order to keep up with the times, was going to be given a digital readout. The announcement shocked listeners, who protested the change. The BBC Japanese service also announced the clock hands would be sold to the first four listeners to contact them. One Japanese seaman in the mid-Atlantic immediately radioed in a bid. *ROTFL* The “olodo”, if only he knew!

  • THE SECOND PLACE POSITION:
A barge towing a giant iceberg appeared in Sydney Harbor in April 1978. Dick Smith, a local adventurer and millionaire businessman, had been loudly promoting his scheme to tow an iceberg from Antarctica, saying he was going to carve the berg into small ice cubes, which he would sell to the public for ten cents each. These cubes, fresh from the pure waters of Antarctica, were promised to improve the flavour of any drink they cooled.
Local radio stations provided blow-by-blow coverage of the scene, but when it started to rain the firefighting foam and shaving cream the berg was really made of washed away, uncovering the white plastic sheets beneath.
  • THE FIRST PLACE POSITION:
Burger King published a full page advertisement in USA Today in 1998. The advert announced a new item on their menu: the Left-Handed Whopper. Especially designed for the 32 million left-handed Americans, the new burger included the same ingredients as the original Whopper, but all the condiments were rotated 180 degrees. Thousands of customers went into restaurants to request the new sandwich, while many others requested their own ‘right handed’ version.

Quotes on Humour . . .

“It is the ability to take a joke, not make one, that proves you have a sense of humor.”
~ Max Eastman

“A sense of humor is the ability to understand a joke-and that the joke is oneself.”
~ Clifton Paul Fadiman

“A sense of humor is the only divine quality of man.”
~ Arthur Schopenhauer

“You grow up the day you have your first real laugh – at yourself.”
~ Ethel Barrymore

So, as you go about your day getting pranked and giving out pranks, make sure to remember that the secret to life is, live a little, learn a little, laugh a lot!
