Pregnant women urged to eat more fish

                                     Pregnant or breastfeeding women should increase their weekly consumption of fish, as long as it's lower in mercury, according to new advice from the US Food and Drug Administration and the US Environmental Protection Agency. The two agencies now recommend that women eat at least 8 ounces and up to 12 ounces per week of low-mercury fish, to support foetal growth and development. That equates to two or three servings. Young children and women who might become pregnant should also try to eat a similar amount of fish every week, the agencies said in a newly released draft of updated nutritional advice.Important nutrients The nutritional benefits of fish outweigh concerns about mercury, the agencies have concluded. Nadia Buari rejects $75,000 endorsement contract

                         Ghollywood and Nollywood actress, Nadia Buari's according to reports from her public relations office, has refused to be a brand ambassador for French cosmetic company, Avant Claire Grande in Africa, the screen diva said that she does not want to support anything that will affect the health of Africans, as she claimed that the Claire product contained compounds of hydroquinone, a chemical used for skin whitening and bleaching, which could be harmful to the skin.According to reports the contract is worth $75,000 and would have made her the company’s brand ambassador representing the African continent.

Nigerian musicians tell Super Eagles to fly in Brazil

                                        Notable musicians have come together to support the Super Eagles at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.Ice Prince, Sasha P, Sheyi Shay, Nosa and Dammy Krane have recorded a song titled ‘Fly Like The Eagles.’ To support Nigeria’s campaign at the football mundial. The song is written and produced by Gospel singer Nosa. Nigeria is appearing at the World Cup for the fifth time, and will play their opening match against Iran on June 16. Listen to song HERE

                                 Phyno and Flavour have taken advantage of the trip to Durban, South Africa for the MTV African Music Awards(MAMA), to shoot the video of Phyno’s Authe(Authetntic) single featuring Flavour. The song is off Phyno’s debut album No Guts No Glory, which came out in the first quarter of 2014. The video shoot in Durban comes just days after Flavour won Best Live Act at the 2014 MAMA.                                   Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has finally spoken after hired assassins allegedly entered the home of Daniel Ademonikan’s in Abuja and threatened to kill her, In a recent interview, Stella Damasus said that the threat on her life will not stop her from speaking the truth and standing up for the rights of women and young girls. About 12 gunmen are believed to have enetered Ademonikan’s home on May 31, and asked for Damasus. Luckily the actress was at a movie location in the United States.
