Alleged fraud: Filmmaker Egbegbe to remain in prison

Nollywood filmmaker, Seun Egbegbe, is to remain in prison till Tuesday when the Federal High Court in Lagos will hear his bail application.
The Police Special Fraud Unit last Friday arraigned Egbegbe (also known as Olajide Kazeem), for alleged serial fraud involving N39, 098,100, $90,000 and £12,550.
He was arraigned on 36 counts with Oyekan Ayomide, with whom he allegedly conspired to perpetrate the fraud between 2015 and last February 2. They were accused of defrauding Bureau De Change (BDC) operators.
Defence counsel Miss. A. O. Gbadamoshi said she completed the process of filing the bail applications on Tuesday.
Police prosecutor Innocent Anyigor said he was unable to file a counter affidavit to the applications as he was served yesterday, adding that he needed time to respond.
Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo ordered that the defendants remain in prison until their bail applications are heard on Tuesday.

Ray J has given Kim Kardashian his share of the 2014 profits from their sex tape as a wedding gift. The 33-year-old singer has offered his former girlfriend and her fiancé Kanye West a cheque for almost $47 000, which is the amount of money he made from the X-rated Kim Kardashian Superstar video - which was filmed when they were dating in 2007 - between January and April this year. According to gossip website TMZ, Ray picked up $6135.60 in January, a staggering $20 097.31 in February, $9 674.76 in March, and $10 931.52 in April, and under the deal signed with Vivid Entertainment - who say the tape has made an estimated $50m to date - she is entitles to royalties at least the same as her former lover. It is unclear as yet whether Kim - who has 10-month-old daughter North with Kanye - will accept the gift, but if she doesn't, the singer has pledged to donate it to her favourite charity.
