Yvonne Nelson stars in new romantic comedy

                                Ghanaian film maker/actress, Yvonne Nelson tries to unravel the mindset of men in new romantic comedy titled Single, Married, Complicated. The movie which is directed by Pascal Amanfo, features a star studded cast of Nollywood and Ghollywood stars that include; Chris Attoh, John Dumelo, Alex Ekubo, Eddie Watson, Tana Adelana, Anita Erskine, and Yvonne Nelson. The movie is produced by Yvonne Nelsons production company, YN Productions.

Timaya, Patoranking are friends again

                              Nigeria artiste Timaya has ended his perceived ‘beef’ with former label mate and music sensation Patoranking. These former 'sworn enemies' were hanging out in a club in Port Harcourt over the weekend, after Timaya, the Dem Mama Soldiers Label boss posted a photo of them on his Instagram page. "Me and my favorite boy @patoranking last nite in port harcourt.#madfun leggoo. " Timaya wrote. The duo have allegedely been on the war path, after Patoranking announced that he was leaving Timaya's record label because their were disagreements over contracts. Patoranking who acquired a 2014 Range Rover SUV and moved to an apartment at the Metro Garden in Lekki, all courtesy his new label, FOSTON MUSIK, has been doing well after the release of his wave making track "galieo ft Tiwa Savage." With the hang out, the duo have been able to put a stop to speulations that they were not in good terms with each other

Meriam Ibrahim to be freed soon after Sudanese court orders release

                              According to Sudan's SUNA news agency, Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman sentenced to death for refusing to abandon her christian faith is to be released soon. The state media today announced that the appeal court has ruled that she be immediately freed and all charges against her dropped. "The appeal court ordered the release of Mariam Yahya and the cancellation of the (previous) court ruling," Sudan's SUNA news agency said. One of her lawyers, Elshareef Ali Mohammed, who expressed doubt over the announcement said he was on his way to the prison to know if it was true. Continue... NCC partners Nollywood to improve film production

     The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) plans to improve the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capacity of movie stakeholders in the country. The Director, Public Affairs of the commission, Tony Ojobo said that the telcos regulator had become an active enthusiast of Nollywood. According to him, the aim is to help project the image of the country positively. “Our attraction to Nollywood became more intense when we realised that we can leverage on ICT opportunity to promote and project the industry to greater digital heights, for the benefit of the practitioners and socioeconomic progress of our nation.

Lupita Nyong'o's goal after Oscar win was not to trip

Looking back, Lupita Nyong'o says the moments after she won her Academy Award this year were a blur and time stood still. But she says in the July issue of Vogue there's one thing she does remember: worrying she would trip on her way to the podium. “It’s not cute if you follow Jennifer Lawrence — it’s not cute if you’re the second one!” she laughed, referring to Lawrence’s famous stumble while collecting her best-actress Oscar the year before. The 31-year-old actress has a steady path ahead of her. She will voice a character in Jon Favreau’s take on Disney’s “The Jungle Book” and landed a role in “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Plus she’s going to co-produce and star in an adaption of the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie book “Americanah,” saying the story blew her away. The July issue of Vogue goes on sale Tuesday in New York and Los Angeles.

Tonto Dikeh plans to release debut album

                                     Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh who just signed for Dbanj’s DB Record label has announced that a debut studio album is in the works. The 29-year old screen diva said in a recent interview that she was ready to release her first album which may shock her fans. I really wanna take music far because I know y’all are going to listen’, she says. Dike released her first two singles in October, 2012 and another one, Crazically Fit with producer, Terry G, few weeks back.
