Lifestyle:Pubic hair prank gets KFC worker fired

An employee at a KFC in Wales was reportedly fired after he claimed to have added pubic hair to the colonel’s famous herbs and spices. The employee made a post claiming he did the deed on “Spotted Cardiff,” a Facebook page for people in Cardiff, Wales, Huffington Post reports. The employee reportedly did so after overhearing customers telling “his girl” to smile more while going through the drive-thru. KFC released a statement confirming their employee was only kidding, but that he was still fired.

Nollywood director arrested for 'filming Shoprite'

  Nollywood director Obi Emelonye was arrested on Monday by the police for taking aerial shots of Lagos around Shoprite Ikeji using remote helicopters. The director of the award winning Last Flight to Abuja and Mirror Boy revealed this on his Facebook page, and said that he was arrested for trying to make Lagos look great. Emelonye was released by Lagos state governor's security detail two hours after his arrest and said he was embarrassed for his UK based production team members who were also arrested.

Adele set to join The X Factor?

Adele has agreed to become a judge on The X Factor . The Skyfall singer is reportedly set to join the panel of the TV talent show - although she won't commit until she has finished working on her new album, so fans shouldn't expect to see her until at least 2016. An insider told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: ''Adele is a huge fan of the show and has agreed to be a judge. Simon wanted her to join him and Cheryl Cole on this year's panel. ''Although she has turned him down due to album commitments she has promised to sign up as a judge in the next few years. ''She really wants to join the show, even if it is just for a one-off year. Although no contract has been signed, Adele has made it clear to Simon she's up for it when the time is right.'' The Grammy Award-winning star is expecting to release her third record later this year, with plans to tour in 2015 and join 'The X Factor' once she's available. The source said

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on their honeymoon without daughter North West. The newlyweds - who married in a lavish ceremony at Forte di Belvedere o di San Giorgio Firenze in Florence, Italy, on Saturday - have left their 11-month old, North, with Kim's family while they enjoy a break in Cork, Ireland. North was seen leaving on a flight out of Italy with Kim's mother, Kris Jenner, after the wedding, while the reality TV star and her new husband landed in Ireland, where they are staying at the five-star Castlemartyr Resort in East Cork. A source told People.com: "They planned to stay in Europe for a week or two post-wedding, until Kanye has to perform at the X Games in Austin,Texas, on 7 June." The couple are said to be attending Kanye's stylist's wedding, which is also in Europe, this coming weekend.       The popular reality TV show Big Brother Africa(BBA) is returning for the ninth season in 2014, from September 7 2014,reports Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) Countries that will participate in BBA this year are Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the newest entrant to the TV reality show-Rwanda. Entries have been opened by the organizers for persons over the age of 21, who are citizens of any of the participating countries, while audition dates will soon be announced.

Ekiti to celebrate low-key Children's Day

Ekiti State Government on Monday directed that the 2014 edition of the Children's Day Celebration be marked without the usual fanfare. The State Commissioner for Education, Kehinde Ojo, announced this at a news conference in Ado Ekiti. He said the decision to make the celebration a low-key one was due to the dictates of the mood of the nation. "There is no how over 200 girls of a school can be kidnapped and still be with their abductors and expect their colleagues to file out celebrating. "Ekiti State Government feels it will not be fair to stop the children from celebrating, hence we opted for a moderate celebration’’, he said. Ojo said that since the event had been designated low-key, it would not be accompanied by the usual excitement, pump and ceremony.

Jim Iyke dropped from lead role in Kenyan movie

Nollywood actor and reality TV show star, Jim Iyke has been dropped from a Kenyan film due to production budget cuts. Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) reports that Serah Mwhihaki, who is the screen writer for the film titled My Life in Crime , revealed this at the on-going Broadcasting, Film and Music Africa conference where she is a panelist. Jim Iyke was cast as John Kiriamiti, a hard core criminal who is now reformed, but was later dropped due to slashes in the cost of shooting the film.

Senate president rallies support for Eagles

The President of the Nigerian Senate, David Mark, has urged the Super Eagles to go and 'conquer' the world in order to bring respect to Nigerian and African football in general, KickOff Nigeria reports. Mark stated this in a goodwill message sent to the Nigerian contingent of players and officials before their departure to London on Sunday.
