Yoruba elders have seen something good in Jonathan — Babatope

      Chief Ebenezer Babatope, 72 came to national limelight as the fiery director of organisation of the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN in the Second Republic. Babatope was a shinning light among Nigeria’s progressives. An unrepentant Awosit till date, his ideological bearing, however, became an issue among some during and after his years of service in the General Sani Abacha regime where he held the transport portfolio. Such concern also shadows his prominent standing in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. ‘10 years after my wife died of cancer, early diagnosis saved me'

P recisely  14 years ago, Alfred Ohiami, a Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church Ilupeju, had a personal encounter with cancer when his 33-year- old wife died of the disease as a result of late detection.          Ohiami, who is currently the Deputy Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, Lagos, said he learned a hard lesson from the experience. In an encounter with Features Health & Living during a forum held by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, CECP-Nigeria ,to raise awareness about cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment, he told a heart-rending tale of his travails. Video Appearing to Show Jordanian Pilot's Burning Death 'Absolutely' Backfired Against ISIS

The ISIS video appearing to show a Jordanian pilot being burned alive “absolutely” backfired on the terror group, retired Marine Corps General John Allen told ABC News in an exclusive interview. “It will be one of these moments that created a unity of purpose and a unity of effort among the nations [of the world,]" Allen, the Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS, said from Amman, Jordan . Allen arrived in Jordan to meet with King Abdullah and other officials after ISIS released video appearing to show Jordanian pilot Lt. Muath al-Kasabeh being burned alive while trapped in a cage. The video triggered outrage around the world and spurred Jordan to take more action against the terror group. “King Abdullah has indicated the desire to do more in the aftermath of this horrific killing,” Allen said. “He’s been a leader in this process.” Continue...

The brightest stars won big on Sunday at the 2015 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Just a couple hours before the start of the Grammy Award ceremony telecast, the late Joan Rivers won her first award posthumously for Best Spoken Word Album for "Diary of a Mad Diva." Pharrell and Sam Smith had a monster night, both winning multiple awards. Pharrell picked up a Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for his incomparable song "Happy," while Smith picked up the first Grammy of the telecast, winning for Best New Artist. He later added Grammys for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Song for "Stay With Me" and the biggie -- Record of the Year. It really was Smith's night to shine!.
