Abia Commissioner dies six days after he was shot by suspected assasins

                 The Abia State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Kenneth Nwosu, who was shot by suspected assassins on Wednesday July 9th has died. He died from gunshot wounds he sustained following the attack along the Umuajata/Amakama road while driving from Umuahia the capital city to his home at Olokoro in Umuahia South local government. He was rushed to the Abia State Specialist Hospital Umuahia where he had been receiving medical attention. Unfortunately he didn't make it. He died on Monday July 14th, six days after the attack. His death was announced by the Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Eze Chikamnayo at a press conference yesterday Tuesday July 15th. Mr Chikanmayo said Dr Nwosu's death was a great loss to the people of Abia state.

Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life denies banning Ipads & phones in his church

                                              The General Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, has denied media reports that he banned the use of Ipads and Iphones in his church. He released a statement to that effect on his Facebook page. Find it after the cut... THIS REPORT IS FALSE. There was never a time as referred to in the article, when Pastor W.F. Kumuyi made this statement or “BANNED” the use of mobile devices in the Church.

Nyako impeached; faces treason charges

                      There were indications last night that the impeached governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, might be arrested by security agents and charged to court for alleged treason. While the treason charges against the former governor is billed to take off in one court, the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, would be prosecuting Nyako in another court for allegedly looting funds of the state said to have been stashed in a local bank. The governor and the North-East Region manager of the said bank will be charged with another top official of Adamawa State Government, who is being held by the anti-graft agency for aiding and abetting the looting. The Presidency has already ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, to file treason charges against the governor, who lost his plum job yesterday. Guard kills Babcock varsity female student in hotel

                                 A security guard, Azeez Ibrahim, has shot dead a female undergraduate of Babcock University, Busayo Ogunkoya, during a birthday party in a hotel in Ikorodu, Lagos State. The 22-year-old Ogunkoya was celebrating with her friends on Saturday evening, July 5, 2014, at Mambillah Hotel, when the guard fired a shot that killed her.  Immediately the incident happened, there was confusion as the people fled the hotel. Nyanya blast: Key suspect, Ogwuche, extradited to Nigeria

                               The alleged mastermind of the April 14 blast in Nyanya, Abuja, Aminu Ogwuche, has been extradited by Sudan to Nigeria on Tuesday. Ogwuche, who was handed over to the Interpol Unit of the Nigeria Police Force by the Sudanese authorities was flown into the country in a special flight from Khartoum, Sudan, which touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 3pm on Tuesday.
