                      With every attack by Islamist militants in northern Nigeria, Daniel Ayuba relives a nightmare. Two years ago, attackers planted a bomb near a car wash in Maiduguri. The explosion shattered his leg and left 80% of his body covered in shrapnel. "I looked around me and there was fire burning, houses blown up and dead people," said Ayuba, the scars still visible on most of his body. "I kept on crying, crying for someone to come help me, but no one would come." Ayuba is among a fast-growing list of Boko Haram victims. Freelance cameraman free of Ebola, can leave Nebraska hospital

                          Freelance cameraman Ashoka Mukpo no longer has the Ebola virus in his bloodstream and will be allowed to leave Nebraska Medical Center, the hospital said Tuesday. "Just got my results," Mukpo tweeted. "3 consecutive days negative. Ebola free and feeling so blessed. I fought and won, with lots of help. Amazing feeling." The 33-year-old was working for NBC News when he tested positive for Ebola in Liberia. Mukpo was among a team working with Dr. Nancy Snyderman , the network's chief medical correspondent. Pastor docked for ‘obtaining by false pretence’

                              A 45-year-old pastor, Bienose Chukwuka, was yesterday arraigned before a Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on a 33-count charge of stealing and obtaining money by false pretence. The defendant was accused by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of stealing and obtaining N5.1 million by false pretence from 15 persons, including Pastor John Ezeugo and Rev. Peter Emeka. EFCC counsel, Mr. Ben Ubi, informed the court that the offence was contrary to Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act of 2006. However, the defendant pleaded not guilty. Justice Justice Lawal Akapo adjourned the matter till December 1, 2 and 3 for commencement of trial and held that the defendant should continue on the bail granted him by Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo. INTERNATIONAL Detective, Mr. Sam Nwanti, has joined the presidential race, vowing to stamp out corruption, if given the mandate. Nwanti is aspiring on the banner of the Mega Progressives Peoples Party (MPPP). He told Vanguard that he is in the race to save Nigerians from the stifling grip of the major political parties and boasted that he will beat President Goodluck Jonathan of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and any candidate fielded by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Man Arrested for Smuggling 100 Pounds of used G-strings into Zimbabwe

                         A man in Zimbabwe has been arrested for smuggling 100 pounds of second-hand G-strings, thongs, and regular pants into the country. RadarNG reports that the man was apprehended at the Sango Border Post by the Zimbabwean Revenue Authority (Zimra). It is against the law in the country to import used garments, whether used or donated, as the country wants to protect its domestic textile industry, and guard against the health risks associated with the use of second-hand underwear. However, because of the current economic crisis many people are being forced to purchase used clothing, including undergarments, which are often donated by developed countries.

Man Abandons Children in Ogun State Boarding School for 8 Years

                        A man abandoned his three children at an Ogun State boarding school for eight years because he couldn’t afford to take care of them. The man, Segun Adepegba, enrolled the kids at Solid Model College in 2007, promising to come and pick them up after the first school term but he never showed up, Punch reports. Continue...
