Prince Harry came to the rescue of a lady who lost her hat after a gust of wind blew it off as he made a speech at RAF Honington in Suffolk this morning. Ever the gentleman, the Prince, 30, rushed to her aid and scooped up the wayward titfer before returning the garment to its delighted owner with a big smile. Harry's moment of gallantry came just after he had made a speech in which he praised the 'professionalism and determination' of the RAF's 26 Squadron. The royal, who is fresh from a visit to Kandahar Airbase in Afghanistan, inspected ground troops before presenting No. 26 Squadron RAF Regiment with a new standard. Dailymail  Reports. Ebola crisis: Sierra Leone health workers strike

There have been almost 300 new Ebola cases in Sierra Leone in the past three days Hundreds of health workers involved in treating Ebola patients have gone on strike at a clinic in Sierra Leone. The staff are protesting about the government's failure to pay an agreed weekly $100 (£63) "hazard payment". A few are still assisting at the clinic. The clinic, in Bandajuma near Bo, is the only Ebola treatment centre in southern Sierra Leone. Nearly 5,000 people have been killed in the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa, mostly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone . Continue...

Pres. Jonathan appoints new Chief Justice of Nigeria

President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated Mahmud Mohammed as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria. Mr. Mohammed’s nomination was sent by the president to the Senate and was read Wednesday. If confirmed, the Supreme Court judge will replace Aloma Muhtar as Nigeria’s Chief Justice. Mrs. Muhtar will retire November 20 after attaining the mandatory 70 years of age. Mr. Jonathan’s letter read: “In conformity with section 231 sub section (1) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, which gives the President powers to appoint a Chief Justice of Nigeria, acting on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council and subject to confirmation of the appointment by the Senate, I have the honour to forward the nomination of Honourable Justice Mahmud Mohammed, CFR for confirmation as Chief Justice of Nigeria.”  PremiumTimes  reports.

Many are still outraged over the death of Thomas Eric Duncan,the Liberian man who become the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola Virus o n United States soil. Why did he have to die? How come every other Ebola patient in the US has been cured? Why couldn’t he be saved just like they were? These are questions that have plagued the minds of Duncan’s family and loved ones. His sister, 52-year-old Mary Pearson, recently shared her thoughts on the matter with Daily Mail. Shell 'warned Nigeria pipeline could leak before spills'

  Oil firm Royal Dutch Shell was told a pipeline had reached the end of its life years before it spilled up to 500,000 barrels of oil, according to court documents seen by the BBC. Two spills in 2008 affected about 35 sq miles (90 sq km) in southern Nigeria, according to a group suing Shell. The area included sensitive mangroves. Shell "dismisses the suggestion that it has knowingly continued to use a pipeline that is not safe to operate," it told the BBC . The emails, letters and internal reports submitted to a court in London show that senior Shell employees were concerned before the spill that Shell's pipelines in the area had reached the end of their lives and needed replacing to avoid danger to lives, the environment and the economy.
