Kim Kardashian to join Indian Bigg Boss house

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is set to make an appearance on the Indian version of Big Brother, a spokesperson for the channel airing the show says. Kardashian will join the remaining 12 participants on the programme, known as Bigg Boss, in Mumbai on Saturday. Kardashian is a household name in the UK and the US, best known for reality shows and a leaked sex tape. Former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and late reality TV star Jade Goody have also appeared on Bigg Boss. The 34-year-old Kardashian, who is visiting India this week for the first time, will appear in Bigg Boss as a "guest to interact with the contestants", a statement by the Colors channel said. "Namaste India... main Kim Kardashian aa rahi hoon India... Bigg Boss ke ghar mein [Hello India, I am Kim Kardashian and I am coming to the Bigg Boss house]," the statement quoted Kardashian as saying. The eighth season of the programme started in October. Nigeria army 'retakes Chibok' from Boko Haram

The Nigerian army says it has recaptured the north-eastern town of Chibok, which was seized by Boko Haram militants on Thursday. Boko Haram fighters kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls from the village in April, sparking global outrage. The group, which says it is fighting to create an Islamic state in Nigeria, has repeatedly targeted villages in Borno state in recent months. There are reports of many Boko Haram members being killed in Sunday's raid. Correspondents say Chibok was retaken late on Saturday, after dozens of military vehicles were seen heading to the village. Burkina Faso declares Michel Kafando interim president

Political and military leaders in Burkina Faso have chosen a former foreign minister, Michel Kafando, to be the country's interim president. The move follows the signing of a charter on Sunday mapping out a year-long transition to elections. Mr Kafando was one of four possible candidates for the post, including two journalists and an academic. The army took power after President Blaise Compaore was forced to resign on 31 October during mass protests. Lt Col Isaac Zida, who declared himself head of the West African state, has pledged to hand over power to a civilian authority.Negotiations The transitional charter will see an interim legislative chamber and a transitional leader installed until elections are organised next year. Mr Kafando, 72, was chosen by a special panel composed of religious, military, political, civil and traditional leaders. Negotiations in the capital Ouagadougou continued into the early hours of Monday morning. Mr Kafando's first task will be to name a
