                         Imo State government’s acknowledgment of the receipt of Federal Government’s bailout fund, the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev. Anthony J. V. Obinna, has again challenged Governor Rochas Okorocha to publish the state’s financial statement. Archbishop Obinna, who repeated the demand while fielding questions from journalists in Owerri, wondered why it was taking the governor such a long time to publish the state account for public consumption.

Hillary Clinton plans to launch a new initiative this weekend as she seeks to weave women’s issues into every facet of her campaign instead of using them in a separate silo as she did in her unsuccessful 2008 presidential bid. Scores jump to death as fire guts plaza in Balogun Market

Several people were feared dead and others injured when a six storey plaza in the heart of the popular Balogun market in Lagos was gutted by fire yesterday. The plaza is surrounded by several important businesses which included the Union Bank, Diamond Bank and the United Bank for Africa (UBA). It was also observed that the plaza which was being used as a wholesale and retail outlet for shoes and bags is directly beside and attached to Union Bank building.

Nwabufo who passed on yesterday, Thursday September 3rd 2015. The actress who is second to the last born of her late father was on location when the incident happened. The late Joseph Nwabufo passed away, almost without any sign of illness at Enugu after returning home, having spent some 3-4 months with his beloved Anita in Lagos.

Court martial Review: Army pardons, reinstates 3,032

Following the recommendation of the committee instituted by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, to review recent disciplinary cases in the army, especially of soldiers in the defunct Operation Zaman Lafiya, the Nigerian Army has pardoned and reinstated a total of 3,032 soldiers out of the 5,000 that appeared before the committee. The recall of the soldiers came just as the army authorities vowed that the battle against insurgency will be concluded in three months as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari. Addressing the media in Abuja, yesterday, Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said: “The reinstated soldiers are those whose offences bothered on cases of discipline, regimentation and justice. “The soldiers have shown their total readiness to be re-launched into the theatre of combat insurgency and have now commenced a re-training exercise at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora, Niger State. “It must, however, be made clear that not all

Her formal presentation as an ambassador took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
