New contract: Keshi scales first hurdle

                              The technical committee of the Ni­geria Football Federation (NFF), headed by Barrister Green with former Super Eagles head coach, as well as former Eagles striker, Victor Ikpeba have been handed the task of de­termining the fate of the national team coach, Stephen Keshi. Though, there were strong indications that the former skipper of the senior na­tional team is likely to be retained, a com­muniqué signed by Emeka Inyama at the end of the NFF Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja and made available to Daily Sunsports seemed to have given a tacit approval to Keshi’s return as Eagles manager. New e-passport takes off Friday

                                                                           President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday inaugurated Nigeria’s new 64-page e-passport with a call on Nigerians to protect the image of the country by shunning uncomplimentary statements and actions. Jonathan launched the traveling document shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He and Vice President Namadi Sambo later took turns to be captured in order to be issued with the new traveling document. The new passport takes effect from August 1. Continue...

Landlady’s children cut tenant’s private parts

                          A 35-year-old man, Yinka Offehin, is battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos State after his scrotum was cut by the children of his landlady. No fresh case of Ebola in Lagos - Lagos state Government says

                          The Lagos state government says no fresh case of Ebola virus has been discovered in the state or in any part of the country. According to the Special Adviser to the Lagos state Governor on Public Health, Dr (Mrs) Yewande Adeshina, all the 59 people who had direct or indirect contact with late Liberian Patrick Sawyer who died last Friday in Lagos from the virus, have been traced, tested and found to be hale and hearty and have not exhibited any unusual body temperature or any other symptoms of the dreaded virus. In a related development, the state Commissioner for Information, Lateef Ibirogba advised residents to be wary of the activities of fraudsters who are making spurious claims about their ability to provide cure for the Ebola Virus, urging them to always contact health providers to report unusual feelings noticed as only medical solutions are known to be appropriate for the disease.
