Woman in transit delivers baby on Lagos – Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun on Thursday said that it had taken safe delivery of a baby girl whose mother was in transit along Lagos /Ibadan Expressway. The Public Education Officer of Corps in Ogun, Mrs Florence Okpe, said in a statement in Abeokuta that the FRSC Accident and Emergency Clinic in Sagamu took safe delivery of the baby around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.“ A medical examination by the medical doctor confirmed the baby and mother to be in good condition”. reports added that the family of the mother had been contacted.(NAN)

Patience Jonathan slams N2bn suit on EFCC

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday fixed Nov. 16 to hear the N2 billion Fundamental Rights suit brought against the EFCC by Mrs Patience Jonathan. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the wife of the former president Goodluck Jonathan had filed the suit in June to challenge her alleged incessant harassment by the anti-graft commission. Ohanaeze: Igbo should forget Biafra

The Southeast should forget the agitation for Biafra, Ohanaeze Ndigbo said yesterday. The Igbo should work towards the restructuring of Nigeria, their apex socio-cultural organisation said. “We should forget Biafra and insist on restructuring. There is no Igbo person that is happy with the situation of things in Nigeria. We must seek peaceful ways of resolving the issues,” Ohanaeze President John Nwodo said. “Ohanaeze is in an era of transparency. I assure you that we have not relented in speaking for the Igbo people,especially in the area of restructuring for the benefit of Igbo people.”

President Muhammadu Buhari was under pressure yesterday to get to the bottom of the $25 billion contracts row and other matters at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Minister of State for Petroleum Ibe Kachikwu, in a letter to the President, alleged that NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD) Maikanti Baru.
