Zambia President Michael Sata: State funeral held

Zambia is holding a state funeral for President Michael Sata, who died last month in a UK hospital at the age of 77. Tens of thousands of people are attending the Catholic Mass at the National Heroes Stadium in the capital, Lusaka. Regional leaders are amongst those who have come to pay their respects. Known as "King Cobra" for his venomous tongue, Mr Sata was elected Zambia's president in 2011. The country is now being run by an acting president, and fresh elections are expected in January. His death came days after Zambia celebrated the 50th anniversary of independence from the UK. He was the second Zambian president to die in office.

Africa Cup of Nations: Morocco will not host finals over Ebola fears

Morocco will not host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations because of its fears over the Ebola outbreak elsewhere on the continent, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) has confirmed. Actress Jennifer Lawrence (centre left) stole the show at the London premiere for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 this evening, wowing crowds in an effortless quilted Dior gown.  The 24-year-old walked the red carpet at London's Leicester Square ahead of the UK film premiere of the much-awaited sequel. The premiere attracted dozens of high-profile celebrities, and was attended (from left to right) by Lorde, who sings the film's theme music, and cast members, Natalie Dormer, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone and Julianne Moore. Later on in the evening she changed into a stunning dress with a plunging neckline for the glittering after party (right). Also in attendance at the opening of the latest Hunger Games installment, which will be released on November 20, was Katie Price, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, model Daisy Lowe, singer Alexandra Burke and reality TV stars Kimberley Garner and Sam Faiers. Investigation Into Jet Crash That Killed Prominent Pastor Myles Munroe Set to Begin

A full investigation is slated to begin today, one day after a private Lear jet crashed on approach near Grand Bahama International Airport, killing everyone on board, including a prominent pastor and his wife. All passengers on the flight died, with nine people reportedly on board, the Royal Bahamas Police Force said. The jet was carrying Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife, Ruth, according to Kelley Jackson, a spokeswoman from the Andrew J. Young Foundation. Munroe, 60, was a pastor and motivational speaker, the founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship. Ruth served as co-senior pastor. Continue...

Nigeria blasts America, says U.S has let Nigeria down in war against Boko Haram

Clinic Where Joan Rivers Went Into Cardiac Arrest Cited for Multiple Violations

Staff members at a New York clinic where Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest photographed her with a cell phone while she was sedated, improperly documented how much of the sedative propofol was used, and "failed to identify deteriorating vital signs and provide timely intervention during the procedure," according to a new report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Rivers was 81 when she died at a hospital on Sept. 4 from low blood oxygen just days after going into cardiac arrest at Yorkville Endoscopy during procedures to treat voice changes and acid reflux , officials have said. Secondary School blast in Potiskum kills 46 boys, Others injured

                       At least 46 students have been killed by a suicide bomber at a school assembly in the north-eastern Nigerian town of Potiskum, police have said. A suicide bomber dressed as a student is believed to have caused the blast at the boys' school in Yobe state . Police suggested the militant group Boko Haram carried out the attack. Yobe state's governor has shut all public schools around Potiskum and criticised the government for not tackling the group. In a statement governor Ibrahim Gaidam said: "Urgent action must be taken right now to restore a fast-waning public confidence by doing whatever it takes to stop the escalating violence." Boko Haram has targeted schools during a deadly five-year insurgency aimed at establishing an Islamic state .
