Ebola: Nurse, husband who escaped quarantine relocated to Lagos in special ambulance- Minister

                              Nigerian Minister for Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has confirmed that the Lagos nurse who travelled to Enugu against medical advice is now back in Lagos and is under quarantine with her husband. The suspect, identified as a nurse, said to have travelled to her home town to visit her family, is now under surveillance with 20 others she came into contact with in the city. continue....

CBN re-introduces ATM charges, bank customers to now pay N65

                           A source reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria has re-introduced ATM charges for cash withdrawals made on other banks’ Automated Teller Machines. In a circular dated August 13rd 2014 and signed by the Director, Banking and Payment Systems Department, CBN, Mr. Dipo Fatokun , the re-introduced ATM deduction pegged at N65 per withdraw would take effect from September 1st 2014.

Turkey clears Nigerian woman of Ebola

                              Turkish Health Ministry officials said yesterday that 32-year-old Nigerian woman Stella Omorowa and her son, who were put under medical supervision on Tuesday at Istanbul Ataturk International Airport for showing symptoms of the Ebola virus, are suffering from malaria. The woman and her four-year-old son were on a Turkish Airlines flight from Lagos to Istanbul when the mother told the cabin crew she was feeling unwell. According to the Health Ministry, the woman who was complaining of high fever and vomiting after arriving at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport had been diagnosed with malaria. Ministry officials said that the woman needed urgent treatment for severe form of malaria. Continue...

Banker, 3 soldiers killed, 9 injured in Bauchi auto crash

                               AT least four persons, including a female banker in Alkaleri and three soldiers, yesterday died while nine others sustained injuries in a ghastly motor accident that occurred along Dindima village in Alkeleri Local Government Area of Bauchi state. The accident involved an Army convoy, an Opel Vectra car with registration number AH 951 MGU and an articulated truck with registration number GGW 01 AH. Vanguard gathered from residents of the area that apart from the female banker, three soldiers in the army convoy lost their lives in the fatal crash. They said one of the vehicles in the military convoy had a head-on collision with the Vectra car Confirming the accident, the FRSC unit commander of Alkaleri, Mr James Adamu Kalaa said that the crash which happened around 9.54am, involved 13 persons, out of which four were killed while nine others, including six soldiers sustained injuries.
