New York Times Media Columnist David Carr Dies at 58

David Carr, a media columnist for The New York Times, died after collapsing in the newsroom on Thursday, the newspaper reported. He was 58 years old.
Carr joined the Times as a business reporter in 2002. Before that, he worked as a contributor for The Atlantic Monthly and New York Magazine.
Carr also published a book, "The Night of the Gun," a memoir on his past addiction.

"He was the finest media reporter of his generation, a remarkable and funny man who was one of the leaders of our newsroom," Times executive editor Dean Baquet told staffers in an email. "He was our biggest champion, and his unending passion for journalism and for truth will be missed by his family at The Times, by his readers around the world, and by people who love journalism."
Carr is survived by his wife, Jill Rooney Carr, their daughter Maddie, and his two twin daughters, Erin and Meagan, says the Times.

Ray J offers sex tape money to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as a wedding gift

Ray J has given Kim Kardashian his share of the 2014 profits from their sex tape as a wedding gift. The 33-year-old singer has offered his former girlfriend and her fiancé Kanye West a cheque for almost $47 000, which is the amount of money he made from the X-rated Kim Kardashian Superstar video - which was filmed when they were dating in 2007 - between January and April this year. According to gossip website TMZ, Ray picked up $6135.60 in January, a staggering $20 097.31 in February, $9 674.76 in March, and $10 931.52 in April, and under the deal signed with Vivid Entertainment - who say the tape has made an estimated $50m to date - she is entitles to royalties at least the same as her former lover. It is unclear as yet whether Kim - who has 10-month-old daughter North with Kanye - will accept the gift, but if she doesn't, the singer has pledged to donate it to her favourite charity.
