FRSC Reveals New Number Plate Deadline

Federal Road Safety Commission has reversed its decision to enforce a new number plate for every car in the country.
The Corps Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, made this announcement during an interview with journalists when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Theodore Orji at the Government House in Umuahia.
He said that the agency will no longer insist on any deadline for the enforcement of the new number plate.
He added that the agency would abide by the court ruling which restrained it from enforcing the proposal.
He explained that motorists who still had the old number plate would rather get the new ones when they go to renew their vehicle licences.
“We will abide by the court ruling. It was a case of double taxation to be compelled to have the new one if your licence has not expired. It is a phase approach. If your driving licence expires, you go and renew it. It is a 12-month cycle. There is no deadline again.
“That does not mean that if you carry a fake number plate or driving licence that you will not be prosecuted.

Ray J has given Kim Kardashian his share of the 2014 profits from their sex tape as a wedding gift. The 33-year-old singer has offered his former girlfriend and her fiancé Kanye West a cheque for almost $47 000, which is the amount of money he made from the X-rated Kim Kardashian Superstar video - which was filmed when they were dating in 2007 - between January and April this year. According to gossip website TMZ, Ray picked up $6135.60 in January, a staggering $20 097.31 in February, $9 674.76 in March, and $10 931.52 in April, and under the deal signed with Vivid Entertainment - who say the tape has made an estimated $50m to date - she is entitles to royalties at least the same as her former lover. It is unclear as yet whether Kim - who has 10-month-old daughter North with Kanye - will accept the gift, but if she doesn't, the singer has pledged to donate it to her favourite charity.
