Crisis in NLC as N400 Million for Housing Scheme Goes Missing

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is currently embroiled in controversy over the alleged disappearance of N400 million, which is part of contributions of Nigerian workers for a housing project.
The money is part of the sum of N960 billion allocated for a mortgage scheme for Nigerian workers, Vanguard reports. Sources say the project is being spearheaded by a private company in collaboration with NLC leaders and a Greek national, and is aimed at providing houses for workers in the 36 states.
According to reports, the money mysteriously disappeared from one of NLC’s bank accounts in a new generation bank in Abuja.
A suspect linked to the disappearance of the money was reportedly on the run, but was later apprehended by Director of State Service (DSS) authorities and released afterwards.
Investigations are still ongoing.

Ray J has given Kim Kardashian his share of the 2014 profits from their sex tape as a wedding gift. The 33-year-old singer has offered his former girlfriend and her fiancé Kanye West a cheque for almost $47 000, which is the amount of money he made from the X-rated Kim Kardashian Superstar video - which was filmed when they were dating in 2007 - between January and April this year. According to gossip website TMZ, Ray picked up $6135.60 in January, a staggering $20 097.31 in February, $9 674.76 in March, and $10 931.52 in April, and under the deal signed with Vivid Entertainment - who say the tape has made an estimated $50m to date - she is entitles to royalties at least the same as her former lover. It is unclear as yet whether Kim - who has 10-month-old daughter North with Kanye - will accept the gift, but if she doesn't, the singer has pledged to donate it to her favourite charity.
