Minister of Petroluem Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has rejected a request to appear in front of the Public Accounts committee of the House of Representatives to explain her role in the alleged spending of N10bn to charter and maintain a jet for her personal use.
The minister has written the committee to decline the invitation to the hearing slated for June 26, reports Cable News.
She told the committee that appearing before it would be prejudicial as there are cases in courts over the probe.
Andrew Yakubu, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has also turned down the committee’s invitation based on the reason given by Alison-Madueke.
