The authorities of the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, on Monday directed students of the institution to proceed on recess with immediate effect. In a statement, the management said that the directive affected the full-time, part-time and postgraduate students. It said that resumption of academic activities would be announced in due course. Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Kayode Sutton, said that the management took the decision to avoid any unforeseen circumstances. Activities at the school have been paralysed following the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, LASU chapter.

Paul Walker's lookalike brother is in talks to star in more Fast & Furious movies. Chris Brown is a free man. According to TMZ Brown was released around midnight after serving 108 days of his 131 days jail sentence. He was initially sentenced for a year but got credit for the 116 days he spent in rehab and another 59 days in jail. Brown was taken into custody after a judge ruled that he violated his probation in the Rihanna case. His legal battles don’t end here though he still has an assault trial pending in Washington DC which is set to being in the next few months. Chris Brown posted this tweet hours after his release:

Nollywood actress and producer, Oge Okoye last Saturday launched her make-up line called Crystal Glam Cosmetics, reports Pulse.ng The event took place in Lagos and had celebrities like Ebube Wagbo and Rukky Sanda in attendance. To honour the late film-maker Amaka Igwe, a tribute website , has been created. The website contains goodwill messages, videos, speeches and pictures of the prolific director, who died on April 28. Amaka Igwe was the CEO of Amaka Igwe Studios, and a visionary and pioneer of modern Nigerian Television drama and movie production.

A member representing the South-South region in the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), Dr. Sylvanus Mordi, has been kidnapped by gunmen, Nation reports. Mordi, a former Delta State Head of Service during the first tenure of former governor James Ibori, was reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday in Edo State, on his way to Abuja from Agbor, Delta State. A close family source revealed that the kidnappers had contacted his family for a N10 million ransom for his release.
